Dolce Music Academy was founded on a simple belief: learning music should inspire the same joy and wonder as making it. The name dolce — meaning “sweet and gentle” in musical terms — guides our approach, creating an encouraging environment where students can explore, understand, and grow with confidence while discovering their own lasting love for music.

Founder & Music Educator Piano · Voice · Music Theory
Music has always been something I believe should be understood, explored, and enjoyed. As a music educator, my goal is not simply to teach students how to play an instrument or sing, but to help them discover the joy and meaning within music itself.
I believe every student is unique. Each person comes with different goals, interests, strengths, challenges, and ways of learning. I create lessons around those differences, adapting my approach to keep students engaged, appropriately challenged, and motivated to persevere as they grow.
One of the things I value most in music education is understanding. Music theory and technique are not meant to restrict creativity—they give musicians the knowledge and tools to express themselves more freely and confidently. I love helping students make those connections and experience the moment when something that once seemed difficult suddenly begins to make sense.
Just as important to me is the relationship built along the way. I want students to feel encouraged, respected, and confident in their ability to grow. My hope is that, over time, they develop their own motivation, curiosity, and love for music—something that stays with them long beyond their lessons.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Arizona and have over 10 years of teaching experience across private instruction and school music education. I founded Dolce Music Academy in 2022 and have had the privilege of teaching students ranging from young beginners to adults, both in person and virtually.
Originally from Kansas and raised in Tucson, Arizona, I am currently based in Auckland, New Zealand. Through Dolce Music Academy, I am grateful to continue sharing something I genuinely love with students both locally and around the world.
